What is the Podcast Competition+?
Podcast Competition+ is a new initiative by *SCAPE aimed at nurturing aspiring podcasters to produce youthful and quality podcast content. Beyond a competition platform, it aims to equip aspiring podcasters with the right skills to venture further into podcasting.
When is the competition period?
The Call For Entries for the Podcast Competition+ will be conducted from 9 September 2022 to 30 September 2022. The top 10 finalists will undergo a 5-week mentorship programme from October 2022 to November 2022 to produce a podcast episode which will be assessed by the panel of judges for the final judging round. The award winners will be announced in the month of December 2022.
Who can take part in the Podcast Competition+?
This competition is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) aged 15 to 35 (before 31 December 2022), residing in Singapore at the time of submission.
What are the genres qualified to submit for the Podcast Competition+?
All genres are accepted, as long as they are mindful of social, racial and religious sensitivities, conforming to IMDA guidelines and such other relevant guidelines as specified by *SCAPE from time to time.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
How many entries can I submit?
Each Applicant is allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) entries.
Can I work with someone to produce my podcast entry?
Yes, preferably up to a maximum of two (2) pax per podcast content. However, if a team is chosen as a winner, prizes will be given to the person who submits the project. The submitter is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize money
What language can I submit my podcast entry in?
All entries must be in the English language.
How can I proceed to submit an entry?
All submissions are required to be uploaded here (bit.ly/scape-podcast-2022). Both the URL and password (if any) must be provided. The format requirements are:
- Complete the Proposal Template (not more than 2 pages)
- Audio Teaser
- Format: MP3 or Wav file
- Duration: 1.5 minutes to 2.5 minutes
Do I have to pay a fee in order to participate?
There are no entry fees required to participate in this competition.

When is the deadline for submission?
Submission deadline is 2359hrs (GMT +8) on 30 September 2022.
SELECTION PROCESS
Who are the judges?
Please refer to the *SCAPE website (www.scape.sg/podcast) for more information when these details are released at a later date.
What is the judging process like?
There will be two (2) rounds of judging; preliminary and final. All submissions that meet the requirements set out in the Rules and Terms and Conditions will be evaluated at the preliminary judging round whereby the judges will shortlist approximately 10 finalists to proceed to the next round.
Shortlisted finalists will undergo a 5-week training and mentorship programme and produce a podcast episode. The podcast episode will be assessed by the panel of judges for the final judging round and the judges will select three (3) grand winners.
When will I know if my podcast entry has been shortlisted?
Shortlisted Finalists will be contacted in the second week of October via the contact details as provided in the online submission form.
TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME
What is the Mentorship Programme?
Through the 5-week mentorship programme, shortlisted finalists will gain practical skills to produce their podcast. They will learn the essentials of audio storytelling as well as get professional feedback for their podcast. At the end of the mentorship programme, shortlisted applicants would be required to submit a podcast episode to facilitate the final judging.

When is the Winners Announcement?
The winners for the Podcast Competition+ will be announced on Monday 20 December 2021 (TBC). More details will be released at a later date.
Will the shortlisted finalists be required to attend the winners announcement?
Yes, all shortlisted finalists are encouraged to take part in the Winners’ Announcement event.
