Tell us about yourself.

Hello, I am Jolyn, an illustrator and Twitch streamer. I draw a pink cat named Paper and run a monthly merchandise club on Patreon. My livestreams typically revolve around drawing Paper or doodling for my viewers, as well as bringing them to interesting events and places in Singapore such as art exhibitions, museums and pop-up markets.

How did your journey as a streamer begin?

I first heard of Twitch near the end of 2019 and thought it was an interesting platform. Without ever watching a single stream, I created my twitch account and went live. My first viewer, Owen, made the stream so much fun that I continued streaming ever since.

What do you like about being a streamer on Twitch?

The best part about streaming is interacting with my community. Their jokes and stories always make the stream so much better, and their knowledge helps me to go out of my comfort zone to try new things.

As an Artist and Content Creator, you draw your inspiration from many sources. Who and what inspires you and if it is a place, where do you go to stimulate your creative juices?

A lot of my inspiration comes from my viewers as they often give their input while I draw, making it a collaborative process. Their support on Patreon allows me to constantly create new art and merchandise.

Having been part of the first edition of Streamer Residency (previously known as Pathway) and the Twitch Team, any advice for future aspiring content creators?

Be authentic! It is important that you create your own community of like-minded people that want the best for you 🙂
