What is Creator Residency: Pixel.Ate mentorship programme?

Creator Residency: Pixel.Ate is an initiative by *SCAPE to supports existing content creators by connect them with industry professionals and like-minded individual in a nurturing environment that fosters collaboration and experimentation to create engaging content.

 

When is the mentorship period?

The Call For Applications for the programme will be conducted from 15 June 2024 to 21 July 2024. The shortlisted mentees will undergo a 3-month mentorship programme from Aug 2024 to November 2024 to produce content of their chosen digital format (short-form vertical, vodcast and live stream). Upon graduation, the Top 10 content will be announced.

 

Who can take part in Creator Residency: Pixel.Ate?

This programme is open to all Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs) aged 15 to 35 (before 31 December 2024), residing in Singapore at the time of application.

 

What are the content genres that can be produced during the programme? 

All genres are accepted, as long as they are mindful of social, racial and religious sensitivities, conforming to IMDA guidelines and such other relevant guidelines as specified by *SCAPE from time to time.

 

APPLICATION DETAILS

How many applications can I submit?

Each applicant is allowed to submit only one application.

 

Can I team up with someone to join this programme?

Yes, we accept up to two (2) pax per application. However, if the team’s content is chosen as one of the Top 10, prizes will be given to the person who submits the project. The submitter is responsible for dividing or sharing the prize.

 

What language can I use for my content?

All content produced must be in the English language.

 

How can I proceed to submit my application?

All applications are required to be submitted through this form (https://bit.ly/pixel-ate-form). Any other forms of application will not be accepted.

 

Do I have to pay a fee in order to participate?

There are no fees required to participate in this programme.

 

DEADLINE

When is the deadline for applications?

The application deadline is 2359hr (GMT+8) on 15 July 2024.

 

SELECTION PROCESS

Who is on the evaluation panel?

The evaluation panel is made up of the mentors and *SCAPE representatives.

 

What is the selection process like?

There will be two (2) rounds of evaluation: preliminary and online interviews. All applications that meet the requirements set out in the Terms and Conditions will be evaluated at the preliminary judging round whereby the panel will shortlist the suitable candidates to proceed to the next round for online interview.

Shortlisted candidates that passed the interview will receive notification to join the upcoming mentorship programme (i.e. the masterclasses and 1-1 consultation sessions) for three months.

 

How will my application be evaluated?

The application will be evaluated based on its

  1. Creativity and originality: Innovative approaches and unique content ideas
  2. Quality of work: Clear audio/visual with standard editing
  3. Potential for growth: Openness to feedback and clear goals for the mentorship
  4. Resonating and impact: Positive community/audience engagement
  5. Commitment and professionalism: Consistent content creation history, meeting deadlines and professional communication

 

When will I know if my application has been shortlisted?

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted in the third week of July to attend the interview via the contact details as provided in the online application form.

 

TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP

What is the mentorship programme?

Through the 3-month mentorship programme, the mentees will gain practical skills and industry insights from mentors to produce their capstone projects. They will learn the advanced techniques and knowledges that is more targeted towards their digital content format of their choices. At the end of the programme, the mentees would be required to submit two (2) capstone projects: individual project and collaborative project.

 

When are the Masterclasses?

Will the shortlisted mentees be required to attend all the masterclasses and graduation?

Yes, all mentees are encouraged to take part in the respective masterclasses and the graduation (22 November 2024).
