Are you having a hard time figuring out what you want to do in life? Many people struggle with this, especially those looking to pursue their dream careers. You’re not alone. Through *SCAPE’s career discovery programme, *SCAPE Career Studio, two multi-talented creatives – Mune, a rising singer-songwriter, and Amelia, a mind-body practitioner, explore their passions to heal and inspire others.
We delve into their experiences, challenges, and triumphs and discover what they’ve learned. This is the first of a two-part series featuring four youths’ creative careers and how they bring their career dreams to life with *SCAPE.
Rising Star: A Singer-Songwriter’s Journey to Healing and Inspiring Others

Mune’s music is all about trauma recovery, and they want to connect with people worldwide who are going through the same experiences. For them, performing is about telling a story to their audience and bringing them along on their journey. Despite not having formal training, their music has touched the hearts of many who have listened.
Mune’s first live performance at *SCAPE was a defining moment for them, where they got to showcase their music and share their personal stories with the audience, creating a connection that they cherish to this day.
“I love performing, but making music is a different kind of intimacy. When you’re on stage, you have to share what made you write this song and your experiences. It’s a stage of growth and discovery, and I’m grateful for the experiences so far,” says Mune.

Mune’s partner encouraged them to pursue music. Together, they worked on a single and sent it to the communities they were in, which was a turning point for them. They realized music was their true calling and something they were born to do.
*SCAPE Career Studio improved their skills and connected Mune with like-minded individuals.
“I first heard about My Working Title and *SCAPE last year when I visited Miss Lou, and I had the pleasure of meeting Jael and the team themselves. I have to say; it was an amazing experience! They are cool, down-to-earth people passionate about helping young creatives like us.
The pitching workshop was one of my favourite parts of the programme. I was only used to pitching my projects’ animation and art sections to my classmates in school. But with the help of My Working Title and *SCAPE, I improved my pitching skills by talking to friends and strangers. It was nerve-wrecking at first, but it was worth it!”
While Mune’s music career is still in its early stages, they have big aspirations. They want to take their music internationally and reach people who resonate with their unique sound. “I don’t think I’ll be huge, but I want to reach people who resonate with my music. A concert in the future – that’ll be super cool,” says Mune.
What keeps Mune going is the love and support from their fans. “At first, I felt strange about people listening to my music, but as more people started to appreciate my work, I realised that I was impacting people’s lives. The support from my fans has been instrumental in my journey, and without it, I wouldn’t be able to keep on going,” says Mune.
We asked Mune about what advice they would give to their past self. They shared, “I know that my past self has had a lot of insecurity about their singing, whether their music will reach anybody, if they’re going to make it. I would just tell them you got this and have to take your time. Because I don’t have any musical experience, I’m just self-taught. It’s really stupid to compare yourselves to musicians that have already made it, and I was comparing myself, and I couldn’t start anywhere, which held me back.”
Mune pitched their idea at Fish Tank to launch a release show for their new EP TULPA:REDUX. Fish Tank, as part of *SCAPE Career Studio, is a pitching competition for participants to win financial and resource support from *SCAPE to launch their career projects. (Photo: @tommyweirens)
During their pitch at Fish Tank, Mune expressed their passion for encouraging and pushing people who have gone through similar experiences as them. Mune spoke of their vision for a release show for their newest EP TULPA:REDUX that would showcase intimate storytelling, stunning visual projections, and an immersive experience that would leave a lasting impression.
Their compelling pitch reflecting their passion for music, storytelling, and supporting young adults on their journey won the judges’ hearts. Mune was awarded S$1,000 to make their dream of launching a release show for their new EP a reality.
Mune’s music has touched the hearts of many despite their lack of formal training, and they aspire to reach even more people with their unique sound. With the support of their fans and *SCAPE Career Studio, Mune has been able to pursue their passion for music and hone their skills. Their latest album, TULPA:REDUX, showcases the beauty of human connection through the internet and explores a range of emotions, from longing to empowerment to admiration. Listening to each song is a journey that will transport you to a new world filled with warmth and exploration.

Finding Your Path: A Creative Entrepreneur’s Journey to Creating a Safe Space for Personal Growth for Others
Amelia’s passion for helping others and solving problems to make a positive impact in the world has led her to a clear career path. Finding your way in the world can be tough, especially when you have many talents and passions.
As someone with a diverse range of skills, Amelia had no shortage of career options to choose from. However, her unwavering desire to make a positive impact in the world by helping others led her to a clear path. “I’m passionate about connecting with people on a deep level and understanding their core is what fuels my desire to help. My ultimate goal is to solve problems and make a difference in people’s lives,” she remarked.
With a natural ability to combine her interpersonal skills and artistic talents, Amelia has found her calling as a mind-body practitioner, combining her painting and choreographer skills with her passion for helping people.
Attending *SCAPE Career Studio 2.0 has pushed her to use her abilities and experience to guide youths in similar situations, specifically, it has helped Amelia, in shaping her creative career. She’s learned that it’s never too late to believe in your dreams and pursue them.
“If you have a passion, you should take the initiative to test it out and determine whether it’s something you want to pursue as a career or a hobby,” she shares.
Amelia also realised the importance of identifying a specific area of interest that she wants to focus on. She highlighted, “For instance, starting a business has several elements, but simplifying and narrowing it down can lead to more possibilities than keeping it open-ended. By having a clear focus, I can channel my efforts and resources towards achieving my goals.”
From there, she started @youri_nnersanctuary. “What I do is centred around authenticity and creating a safe space for my clients to explore their passions,” she elaborated.

What sets Amelia’s service apart is her commitment to providing a one-on-one experience. She tailors each session to individuals because everyone’s experiences, emotions, and circumstances are unique.
Amelia explained, “My approach must be effective for that person’s needs, and I want them to leave each session feeling heard and understood. I aim to help them find the missing link in what they want to do.”

Reflecting on her journey, Amelia wishes she could tell her younger self not to be afraid to make mistakes. “Fear of failure can be a crippling force that keeps us from reaching our full potential, especially in creative endeavours,” she explains. “As an artist, it’s easy to get caught up in perfectionism and overthinking, but sometimes the best approach is to just do it and worry about the details later.”
Amelia’s journey highlights the importance of pursuing one’s passions and finding a career that aligns with their values. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the abundance of options available, but by taking the time to test out and identify specific areas of interest, one can channel their efforts towards achieving their goals.
*SCAPE Career Studio 2.0 has helped Amelia hone her skills and pursue her dream of helping others through a unique blend of mind-body practice, painting, and choreography. Her commitment to providing a personalized experience and creating a safe space for her clients to explore their passions is inspiring.
As we navigate our own career paths, let’s take a leaf from Amelia’s book to embrace the process and focus on our values, to find fulfillment and make a difference in the world.
